Modules & Development Kits

Y Link Wireless modules offer the following advantages:

  • · Fully TESTED
  • · Reduce risk during development and pre-production
  • · Firm up the rest of the design before addressing the RF design
  • · Ensure flawless customer trials
  • · Circuit easily integrated into your board for final low cost production

These Modules can be used as a quick and inexpensive, low risk development and prototype platform, or may be suitable for early production and customer trials. They're also suitable for low rate production which may not warrant full development. Y-Link Wireless Modules are available in two basic platforms; Reference Designs (no MCU) and Development/Production Modules (with MCU).

Y Link Development kits offer the following advantage over the standard OEM kits:

  • · Universal development kit so a separate kit is not required for each radio chip
  • · MCU plug-ins offer true code development on a stable development kit platform
  • · Highly configurable

Reference Designs:

These are the same basic reference designs offered by the OEM's with the transceiver IC and it's direct support components (XTAL, L/R/C, etc.). They do NOT include a microcontroller (MCU). The primary difference is the Y Link reference designs offer a standard 0.100" square post header for easy integration with a MCU development kit and your prototypes, as opposed to the high density connectors standard on the OEM reference design modules (great production connectors, but difficult to work with in your lab).

       CC1000DM

The CC1000DM is fully equivalent to the CC1000PP reference design found at www.chipcon.com

      CC1010DM

The CC1010DM is fully equivalent to the CC1010EB reference design found at www.chipcon.com

       CC1020DM

The CC1020DM is fully equivalent to the CC1020EMX reference design found at www.chipcon.com

Development/Production Modules:

These modules include the transceiver chip and an MCU and support circuits. They're available ready for your code (no firmware loaded), or with standard application firmware pre-loaded and ready for prototyping.

What specs are really important to you?

Sure, current consumption, output power, and receiver sensitivity are important, but what else should you be looking at? We show you why such specs as ACR, blocking and turn on times can have a bigger impact than the other specs.
